A courtship show by two great crested grebes was recently spotted at the Qinghuahai wetland park in southwest Yunnan Baoshan City. Having imitated each other in gestures and cleaning their own feathers, their pair failed to deliver a success mating in the end. 

Because of its economic and scientific values, the great crested grebe is a protected water fowl in China. Now the wetland park houses 50 crested grebes, some of which have kicked off their flight to the north for breeding.
