"I was really scared when first climbing this bridge," said Tao Xuegang, a senior worker with China Railway Kunming Group, whose recent focus in to repair the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway for the forth-coming rainy season. 

Tao disclosed that his father also worked on the historic narrow gauge railway.  used to cross the unique Renziqiao Bridge with my father by train, and my father asked me to close the window every time. He said the bridge was too windy.”

The world-famous Renziqiao Bridge is located on the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway section in south Yunnan Pingbian county, and it is flanked by cliffs, out of which two tunnels are carved to connect this bridge.

Underpinned by an inverted V-shaped structure, this bridge has witnessed trains to and fro on the Yunnan-Vietnam railway for over one hundred years, contributing to local socio-economic development.

Thanks to careful maintenance over the years, two pairs of China-Vietnam international trains are still in smooth operation on the century-old railway every single day.
