5/21/2019

A long-expected exhibition on national treasures from major museums in southwest China was staged at the Kunming-based Yunnan Provincial Museum, offering visitors a visual feast on May 18, the International Museum Day.

The exhibition was jointly held by Yunnan Provincial Museum, Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum, the Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guizhou Provincial Museum, Sichuan Museum, the Jinsha Site Museum in Chengdu, and the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan.

Of the 300 plus exhibits, more than 100 pieces belong to the national cultural relics that can be traced in Chinese historical records. They mirror the splendid ancient cultures in southwest China and witness the evolution of the Southern Silk Road.
